Homeowner Insurance

For most people, purchasing a home is the most significant financial investment they can make. To protect your asset, Homeowners insurance provides coverage for the hazards that most homeowners face. When a loss occurs, you can file a claim through us and we will report it to the insurance carrier for you. Some policies also provide coverage for living expenses when your home is uninhabitable due to a covered peril, such as fire or storm damage.

Most homeowners policies are comprised of two sections to help protect you and your home. The Property section of your policy may cover you in the event your own home is damaged by a covered peril. The Liability Section may cover you if someone is injured on your property or you accidentally damage someone else's property.

Some exposures include:

  • Wind damage
  • Interior Water Damage caused by a covered pipe burst, hot water heater burst, etc.
  • Storm damage, fire, windstorm, lightning, and hail
  • Trampoline or swimming pool liability insurance
  • Sinkholes
  • Sewer or septic backups
  • Replacement cost for personal property

Automobile Insurance

Everyone knows that if you own a car, you need auto insurance. However, just because the cheapest insurance is more affordable for the consumer, the level of protection provided may be far from enough if an accident occurs. Issues such as deductible, access to a rented vehicle, paying out damages to the other party, and whether the policy will pay out if you are hit by an uninsured or underinsured driver are all important issues to consider when purchasing auto insurance.

There are two main parts in Auto Insurance. The first is the liability section of the policy. It covers your financial responsibility for injuring others. The second part of auto insurance covers the car itself: comprehensive coverage reimburses losses from fire, theft or other perils; collision coverage pays to repair losses caused by an accident. Often this coverage is mandated by leasing companies or banks. There are also ancillary medical, car rental and other coverages which vary by state.

Personal Property / Personal Items Floater

In the event of a fire at your house, will all of your possessions be replaced at full replacement cost? Many people assume that their homeowners policy will cover each of their personal property items up to the full amount. However, many homeowners policies have sublimits that will cap a payout for certain items. Having an "All-risk" Personal Articles Policy for scheduled personal property of value is a must for your expensive items! Examples may include jewelry, antiques, silver, firearms, fine arts, cameras, laptops, golf clubs, Oriental rugs or furs.

Life Insurance

Life insurance is the most effective way to ensure your family is financially secure when you pass away. Without life insurance, your loved ones may face financial trouble, be unable to access funds, or be left without the support of a breadwinner. Life insurance provides an income to a policyholder's family upon his or her death, in order to pay off mortgages, fund the education, health and welfare of the survivors, or to be used as an estate-planning tool.

Long-Term Disability

Insurance that provides an income should the policyholder become disabled according to the definition in the policy. Although some people may have some coverage through their employer, it is critical to know what is and what is not covered by the employer's long term disability policy. One should always purchase personal long term disability coverage to supplement the needs should one become disabled to cover the expenses and personal needs due to loss of employer income.

Long-Term Care

Insurance that provides coverage for an individual who cannot care for him or herself due to a loss of functional capacity or cognitive impairment. Designed to help protect assets, quality of life and peace of mind. Long Term Care policies may cover nursing home care, home healthcare and assisted living.

There are numerous types of long-term care policies. It is critical to obtain the advice of your trusted insurance agent to obtain what all should be included in a long-term care policy, how and when it will pay out, the amount of time one needs to be incapacitated before the policy benefits kick in, the length of time the benefits will be payable and under what circumstances. This is a coverage one should look into in earlier years than one might think while one is still young and in good health so you can obtain an affordable policy that will provide true long term coverage should you need such assistance at some time in your life.

Flood Insurance

It's an oddity that flooding is the most common natural disaster in the United States, yet it's not covered under a standard home insurance policy. While not every home is at high risk for flooding, it's important to understand how risk is identified and whether flood insurance is something you should consider.

Some homeowners definitely need flood insurance, but just because you don't live in a high-risk area you can get by without it. Surface area flooding may occur without a natural disaster!

Personal Umbrella Insurance

Home and auto insurance policies have liability limits to how much will be covered if you are sued or are liable for damages. If you are faced with paying out damages that are beyond what your insurance policy covers, a personal umbrella policy will provide you with additional protection. As more and more liability claims become more expensive, a personal umbrella policy is a must to protect your assets!
